Ontario Kids 'Week Ahead' for July 30 - August 6

Kids Summer Beach Fun!
Wow, August! We hope families and kids at large are enjoying Ontario this summer. Areas North of Toronto and the GTA have had some stellar summer weather for kids and family fun. Plenty of sun means Ontario beaches, parks, local attractions and accommodations have been helping create wonderful summer memories with great events and festivals and creative and unique summer holidays.

This week is no exception. While there is some rain falling today, and the chance of some more later in the week, our yellow grass and gardens (and water bills!) are breathing a collective sigh of relief. Fear not parents, the week's calendar contains some indoor events to keep the kiddos busy and entertained. And if it's not pouring, many outdoor activities and events are still ok with raincoats and umbrellas. Most kids love to be in the rain, it's fun and a activity on its own!

Here are a few indoor weekday event suggestions:
For more events, view our Family Events Calendar

- Midland Public Library offers free movies for kids and teens on Wednesday afternoons.
- Collingwood Public Library Summer Reading Club is Thursday morning.
- Algonquin Park has Meet the Researchers Day on Thursday for all your young wanna-be scientists.

And some outdoor weekday suggestions:

Full Moon Celebration - great for Teens
- Haliburton Forest Wolf Howl, Thursday evening. Note, this event is more for older children as it is night time event.
- Wasaga Midway in Wasaga Beach. Carnivals are always fun, always.
- Full Moon Celebration on August 1 at the Wye Marsh in Midland, again for older children able to stay up later.
