Ontario Family Travel Events North of Toronto for April 12-14 - Perfect for fun day trips with kids!

Yes! Still OPEN FOR SKI!
While the weather might be playing a hard ball game when comes it to spring - there are many signs out there that spring has indeed arrived. For one, the robins and Canada geese are back. They wouldn't come back for more winter, would they? Or maybe they wanted to see if it was true that Blue Moutain Resort was still offering day skiing with a good number of open runs and terrain parks!

OPEN weekdays for the season
Another sure sign of spring is the opening of one of the most popular Ontario historic resorts - Sainte Marie among the Hurons. The reconstructed 17th century European (French) and Native (Huron) community located in Midland is now open weekdays until May 17. May 18, it will be open 7 days a week until October 14. This is a must family attraction to visit or perfect school trip for any teacher looking for educational and historical fun! Activities include a short film, tours and activities on the historic site, a visit inside an authentic Huron longhouse, games and an indoor museum that contains some interactive displays. This is where Ontario started and is essential for any little Ontarian to see!

It's not too late to book a family weekend getaway either - we've been working furiously to update our FAMILY SPRING GETAWAYS - and there are some really great packages with all-or-nothing bells and whistles when it comes to activities or r&r time with the fam.

Fun activities, r&r for the whole fam!

Ontario Family Travel Events North of Toronto for April 5-7

It's spring with a little winter on the side in areas north of Toronto and GTA. As I type this blog Blue Mountain Resort near Collingwood an still boasting and impressive 14 runs still open and will continue to be open 7 a week as long as Mother Nature permits. Hardwood Ski and Bike is also still offering groomed nordic trails. It's truly a great time to enjoy the best of both seasons!

If the fast skis are not your pace, the snow is melting on the province's beautiful hiking trails and if you've got little kids who like mud, well get out those rubber boots and take the kids to hog heaven! Pack a snack and drinks and see what's happening in the woods and on the paved trails in small town communities. Ontario family attractions are also a good way to entertain the kids.

Maybe you've got the itch to get out of the house with the family for the weekend. We are currently working with our members on our SPRING GETAWAYS page. There are many great packages that include fun activities like horseback riding, fishing, biking and more.

Ontario Family Travel Events North of Toronto for March 22-24

Plan now to get you through!
Happy first day of spring! According to the calendar anyways. Looking out the window, clearly it is still winter for a little while longer. That's ok, no need to be grumpy, all we can do is try to enjoy it the best we can. Remind yourself that there will be days in August when you're complaining about the heat.

Good ski, snowboard and snowshoe times are still happening in areas north of Toronto. For most ski operators, night skiing has been shut down so they can keep the day conditions ideal. We remind you to check before you go as to the daily conditions.

Use our SKI AND SNOWBOARD page for direct links to your favorite ski operations website.
