Family Events North of Toronto for August 24, 25, 26

Ontario Kids and Family fun continues as summers vacation winds down. It's not too late to enjoy a wonderful festival or sneak in one last family weekend getaway! Weather is great, waters are warm - enjoy it while it lasts!

Creemore
Copper Kettle Festival: Good Old Fashioned fun at Creemore Springs Copper Kettle Festival. Poke about the town, enjoy the Farmers' Market or stop by the Brewery. There will be live music, wagon rides, kids activities, great food, brewery tours and much more.

Haliburton
Astronomy Program: Friday nights you are welcome to join us for a fascinating evening under the stars!  Our resident astronomer will take you out to the on-site, dark sky observatory to view and learn about the night sky.  The outdoor portion of the program will only be held on clear nights.  In case of cloudy nights, an exciting indoor, planetarium program awaits visitors.
Sir Sam's 4 Hour Challenge: This a individual or team event 2-4 riders/team Averaging 5 km per lap, the 4 hour course is loaded with fast singletrack, interspersed doubletrack for passing and challenging climbs to separate the pack. Fast riders can expect to come in around 18 minutes, while the average rider should expect lap times of about 25 minutes. The course is enjoyable for all including first-time racers. Age Group Categories for prizes: Kids 15 and under teams Solo Men (under 40, 40 plus) Solo Women Tag Team Male - (combined age 69 and under, 70 plus) Tag Team All Female 3-4 Person Mixed Team (min 1 female) – (combined age 139 and under, 140 plus) Registration until 10:00 am Saturday August 13th $25 per rider with season’s pass or $35 per rider without seasons pass. Fee includes Cheeseburger or Hot Dog with Salad & Corn on the Cob and some great prizes.

Midland
Harbour Festival: Discover one of Ontario's most beautiful waterfront's in the Southern Georgian Bay region. Come to the Midland Harbour Festival and experience a fun filled weekend with over 100 exhibitors of one of a kind, unique art & crafts and antiques. Enjoy the many events during August 24th to 26th all along the town's waterfront including the Midland Tugfest all happening at the town harbour. Visit the Midland Farmers' & Artisans' Market on Sunday from 9am - 2pm across the town docks and the beautiful murals that Midland is known for.

Georgian Bay Tugfest: TugFest Georgian Bay 2012 returns to the the Midland Town Dock, Ontario on Friday August 24 to Sunday August 26, after being away for two highly successful events in Owen Sound and Parry Sound. TugFest will again bring fun and spectacles, for the whole family, to the waterfront.

Dog Days of Summer: Dog owners would meet beside in Penetanguishene Rotary Park at the dog park (Robert St. W. Across from Centre Street). On site activities will include a free mini obedience class, grooming tips and tricks, information booths, demonstrations and more.

Rosseau
Rosseau Fair: Parade, Exhibits, Children's Races, Fiddle Band Entertainment, Nail Driving & Log Sawing Competitions, Local Craft Vendors.
